The first game for the Buffaloes was a close one, but unfortunately the Buffs lost 6-4 against Colorado Springs. Captain Zach Clawson scored two power play goals in the first period. Kyle Nagato assisted the first goal. Connor Watson assisted the second goal of the game. In the third period Mitch Milne scored, which was assisted by Colin Luben. To end the game Max Harrison scored a goal, which was assisted by Zach Clawson.

Next the Colorado Buffaloes played the Denver Pioneers. Stefan Lynch scored the first goal with an assist from Zach Clawson. Max Harrison then scored two goals. Colin Luben assisted both goals. Early into the second period Zach Clawson scored an unassisted goal. The Buffaloes beat the Pioneers 4 to 2! Both Max Harrison and Zach Henderson were the stars of the game.

Colorado then went on to play Arapahoe Community College. The first period started with a goal from Zach Clawson with an assist from Max Harrison. Shortly after Colin Luben scored a goal with an assist from Kyle Nagato. To end the period Colin Luben then scored an unassisted goal. In the Second period Colin Luben scored a power play goal, which was assisted by Max Harrison and Zach Clawson. To end the third period Colin Luben scored another 3 goals! Colorado won 7-3. Colin Luben was named a star of the game for his 6 goals. 

 
 
The tournament started with a close game against Colorado State. Less than two minutes into the game Mitch Milne scored a goal, which was assisted by Max Harrison. Zach Raub scored a goal in the third period with another assist from Max Harrison. The game ended in a 3-2 loss for the Colorado Buffaloes.

The second game of the tournament was against Arapahoe Community College. Captain Zach Clawson scored the first goal of the game. Shortly after Mitch Milne scored another goal. To end the first period Max Harrison scored two goals 15 seconds apart, which were both assisted by Colin Luben. In the start of the second period Zach Clawson scored his second goal of the game with an assist from Kyle Nagato. Soon after Stefan Lynch scored an unassisted goal. To end the period Connor Watson scored with an assist from Kyle Nagato. To start the first period Colin Luben scored with assists from Max Harrison and Kyle Nagato. Next Max Harrison scored a shorthanded goal with an assist from Colin Luben. To end the period Connor Watson scored two goals. Kyle Nagato assisted the first goal, and Zach Clawson assisted the second goal. Colorado defeated Arapahoe eleven to two. Goalie Zach Henderson, Max Harrison, and Connor Watson were the three stars of the game.

The third game of the tournament was against the Denver Pioneers. Max Harrison started the game by scoring a goal, which was assisted by Kyle Nagato. In the second period Zach Clawson scored a goal, which was assisted by Stefan Lynch. Kyle Nagato ended the period by scoring an unassisted goal. In the beginning of the third period Zach Clawson scored two goals. The first of Clawson’s goals was unassisted, and Kyle Nagato assisted the second goal. To end the game Kyle Nagato scored two more goals during a power play. Max Harrison assisted Nagato’s first goal, and Mitch Milne assisted Nagato’s second goal. The game ended with a seven to two victory for the Buffaloes.

After three games the Buffaloes went on to play University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Max Harrison scored an unassisted goal in the first and third period. Unfortunately the tired Buffaloes fell two to four against the Mountain Lions. Both Zach Henderson and Max Harrison were stars of the game. 

 
 
LAKEWOOD, CO- The night started against the Denver Pioneers. Colin Luben scored the first and only goal of the first period. During the second period there was a goal for Denver assisted by former CU Captain Joseph Oria. Shortly into the third period Max Harrison scored his first goal of the game, with assists from Kyle Nagato, and Mitch Milne. He then proceeded to score an unassisted goal and another goal, which was assisted by Stefan Lynch. Unfortunately Colorado lost to Denver 8-4. Max Harrison was a named a star of the game for his hat trick!

         The night ended on a win against Arapahoe Community College. Again Colin Luben started the game by scoring an unassisted goal! Soon after Mitch Milne scored his first goal of the game with an assist from Max Harrison. Then Max Harrison scored a goal with an assist from Mitch Milne and Kyle Nagato. During his first day as a CU Roller Hockey Buffalo Connor Watson was then able to score a goal! To finish the second period Mitch Milne scored his second goal with assists from Kyle Nagato and Stefan Lynch. Colin Luben started the third period by scoring a goal, with an assist from Connor Watson. In the end Buffaloes won 6-3! Mitch Milne and Colin Luben were the stars of the games.

LAKEWOOD, CO- The day started with the B team playing in the firs game of a three game series against Colorado State. Mark Voll scored the first goal of the game, which was assisted by Alex Leiman. He then scored again, this time assisted by Logan McCaul. Austin Hunt scored the third goal, which gave the Buffs a two-goal lead. Then, the Rams were able to score five goals in a row to take the game 6-3.
Next, the A team played in the semi finals, against Denver University. Adam Steinberg was quick to score the first goal. Zach Raub then scored an unassisted
goal. At the end of the period Adam Steinberg scored another goal, assisted by Colin Luben and Zach Raub. In the second period Zach Raub scored another goal, which was assisted by Adam Steinberg. The Buffaloes started the third period down by three goals, but quickly caught up. Adam Steinberg scored his third goal of the game, which was assisted by Zach Raub. Then Brian Barrow scored two goals in a row. Zach Clawson assisted the first goal, and Colin Luben assisted the second goal. The A team made a great effort to catch up in the
third period of their last game. Unfortunately the Buffs fell up short, and they were eliminated by a 8-7 score.
The B team next played game two against Colorado State, for the B team
championship. Alex Leiman scored the first goal for the Buffs in the second period. Then in the third period Patrick Dowling scored a power play goal.  The Rams were able to get 8 goals on the Buffs. The final score of the last game of the season was 8-2 CSU.

Good job to both teams for giving it their all this season!

    LAKEWOOD, CO- The B team started the day by beating Arapahoe Community College. Patrick Dowling scored the first goal, which was assisted by Joseph Oria. Next Logan
McCaul scored a goal, with an assist from Chase Arnold. In the second period, Austin Hunt scored his first goal during his first game. To end the second period Patrick Dowling scored again, this time assisted by Scott Barrow. After a few shots, Joseph Oria scores the last goal from Chase Arnold. The Buffaloes had a total of 43
shots, and five goals. Saturday’s shutout ensured that the Buffs would finish 4-0 with three shutouts against Arapahoe Community College.
    University of Colorado at Colorado Springs put up a tough match against the A team. Colin Luben scored the only goal for the Buffs, in the first period. The Buffs
picked up their game in the third period, but unfortunately the Mountain Lions scored three goals within the last few minutes of play, beating the Buffs 7-1.
   Next up for the A team was a matchup against the rival Colorado State Rams. Colin Luben scored
a power play goal, which was assisted by Zach Raub. In the second period both teams were strong defensively and no goals were scored. Late into the third period
Schuyler Van Sickle scored a goal, with assists from Brian Barrow and Kyle Nagato. Although the Buffs lost 4-2, they had a great effort for their last game of the
regular season before playoffs.
    The day ended with the B team matching up against Division II Denver University. The
Buffs dominated the first period and scored two goals. The first goal was scored by Logan McCaul, and was assisted by Patrick Dowling and Joseph Oria. Only a minute later Scott Barrow scored an unassisted goal. In the second period Joseph Oria scored a goal, and Austin Hunt got his first assist.  To end the period Patrick
Dowling scored a goal, which was assisted by Cody Gondek. Alex Payne scored an impressive five goals for the Pioneers, which proved to be the difference in the game.  The Buffs ended up losing 7-4, but they put up a fight that will arguably give them momentum into regionals.

LAKEWOOD, CO- The day started with the A team playing a game against the Denver Pioneers. Kyle Nagato scored the first goal, which was assisted by Schuyler Van Sickle. Max Harrison then scored his first goal of the game, which was assisted by Captain Zach
Clawson. The second period started with Schuyler Van Sickle assisting Colin Luben’s goal. Then, Schuyler Van Sickle assisted Max Harrison’s second goal of the
game. During the power play Kyle Nagato scored again, with an assist from Zach Raub. In the third period Colin Luben scored the only short handed goal. Unfortunately the Pioneers were able to catch up and beat the Buffs 7-6 in a game that went down to the wire.
The B team beat Arapahoe Community College to start their day. The game started with Patrick Dowling scoring an unassisted goal within a minute of play.  To
finish the first period Logan McCaul scored another unassisted goal. Early into the second period captain Joseph Oria scored a goal, which was assisted by Patrick Dowling. Later in the second period Patrick Dowling scored his second unassisted goal. To end the game George Schmidbauer scored another unassisted
goal. With a total of five goals the Buffs beat ACC 5-3.
    The A team played a close game against Colorado Springs. Late into the first
period Max Harrison put in a goal, which was assisted by Zach Raub. Then in the third period these two both assisted Schuyler Van Sickle’s goal. Unfortunately the
Buffaloes lost 2-4 against Colorado Springs. The day ended with the B team having another close game. Soon after Colorado State scored their first goal, the Buffs were able to put two in the net. The first goal was from Mark Voll, and the second was from Joseph Oria off of a fortunate mistake by the CSU goaltender. Oria
also scored the next goal for the Buffs, in the second period. To end the third period George Schmidbauer scored a goal. The Buffs ended up dropping a close game to the Rams 5-4.
 
 
The tournament started off with the B team shutting out Arapahoe Community College. Patrick Dowling scored the first goal, which was assisted by captain Joseph Oria. Less than 20 seconds later these two get on the board again! To end the period, the third goal was scored by George Schmidbauer, assisted by Cody Gondek. Within the first minute of play during the second period, Mark Voll had a goal, assisted by Chase Arnold. Mark Voll then assisted a power play goal scored by Alex Leiman. Then, Alex Leiman assisted George Schmidbauer’s second goal. To complete the third period Alex Leiman scores his second power play goal, which was assisted by Patrick Dowling. Mark Voll scores unassisted in the third period, making the final score 8-0 Buffs.

Later in the first period Adam Steinberg scores a goal, which was assisted by Max Harrison. In the third period Adam Steinberg scores his second goal with an assist from Kyle Nagato.

The second game for the B team was against our rival CSU Rams. Chase Arnold scored his first goal of the day during the first period. Early into the first period Patrick Dowling scores with an assist from George Schmidbauer. George Schmidbauer then assists Chase Arnold’s goal. To end the second period Patrick Dowling scores again. Unfortunately the Buffs ended up losing 7-4.

Next the A team also lost to our rival Rams. Early into the first period captain Zack Clawson scores a goal, which was assisted by Colin Luben. In the third period Zach Raub scores a goal, which was assisted by Max Harrison.  The final score of the game was 7-2 CSU.

The last matchup of the day was between the A team and Denver University. Zach Clawson assisted Schuyler Van Sickle’s first goal, and Kyle Nagato assisted Schuyler Van Sickles’s second goal. The game ended in a tie. 

 
 
Your University of Colorado Buffaloes will be holding their tryout for the second semester this Thursday, January 17th from 10-11 p.m. The location is RMR in Lakewood. We will see you there!
 
 
LAKEWOOD- Both the A and the B team took second place in the preseason tournament Saturday. The A team lost their opener against Denver 7-2.  Then, they beat UCCS 5-3. The Buffs went on to beat Metro State 4-3 before beating CSU 3-2.  In the finals, the A team lost to Denver.

The B team had a different road. They tied UCCS before losing to CSU B 6-2.  The Buffs made it to the finals against CSU once again, this time losing because a miscommunication lead to a forfeit.
