DENTON, TX - The Colorado Buffaloes won the SCHL Regional title for the second consecutive year with a 9-5 victory over Colorado State on Sunday. CU jumped out to a 5-1 lead and Colorado State was able to pull it back to 6-4 midway through the second period. CU then outscored them 9-5 to seal the victory and a SCHL Regional title. Graeme Ferguson and Kyle Wisbach scored hat-tricks each and goaltender Jack Ryan made 15 saves in the Final.

The Colorado Buffaloes will look to retain their SCHL crown as they head to Regionals in Denton, Texas with a 16-1-1 regular season record. The Buffs fell for the first time in regulation last weekend to Colorado State, but they will look to take their lessons into Regionals this weekend.
The tournament will start with round robin play on Saturday to seed playoffs on Sunday. #6 CU will start the tournaments as the favorites to earn the automatic bid to Nationals. Go Buffs! The Colorado Buffaloes went to Denton, Texas this past weekend and put their stamp on the SCHL second semester slate of games. They outscored their opponents 53-12 over the weekend, dominating CSU, LA Tech (twice), and North Texas. The 5th win resulted from a forfeit from Sam Houston State. Austin Granmoe extended his impressive 5 points per game record, and Dev Patel cracked the 35 point mark this weekend. Newcomers Graeme Ferguson and Kyle Wisbach combined for 25 total points over the weekend.
The Buffs travel to Kansas State this weekend to play a 4-game set against Illinois State, Kansas State, Missouri S&T, and Maryville. You can follow along at SCHL.org! The Colorado Buffaloes roller hockey team held their second semester tryouts this past Sunday at the Parker Fieldhouse. There were a few new faces that will aim to make an immediate impact on the squad in the second semester and heading into Nationals. CU will look to retain their SCHL title in late-February. When: Sunday, 1/21/24 Where: Parker Fieldhouse Time: 9am-11am Cost: None As a reminder, you must be a University of Colorado at Boulder student with at least 9 credits (undergraduate) or 2 courses (graduate). The University of Colorado fell to #10 in the NCRHA coaches poll rankings, after other teams had played significantly more games. Colorado had a chance to make that up this past weekend as they hosted 5-0 Louisiana Tech and Sam Houston State for two games each. (North Texas did not make the trip, so the schedule changed.) The Buffs and LA Tech were a featured game of the week for Division III.
CU had only 5 skaters available for the day, but that did not stop them from putting in good performances over the day. In the first two games, the Buffs jumped out to quick leads, highlighted by Matt Cervino scoring 5 seconds into the first game against LA Tech. CU won both games against LA Tech and Sam Houston by a score of 12-2. The next two games saw further dominant performances by the Buffs, as they won the final two games 15-2 and 13-0, respectively. The Buffs end the semester 6-0 and take a commanding lead in the SCHL, with 66 goals scored and 9 goals against. Austin Granmoe now holds the school record for career goals scored, as he broke the previous record held by Steven Hoernicke ('18). The Buffs will restart in January with a packed schedule, looking to build on their first semester success and qualify for Nationals for the 5th consecutive season. PARKER, CO - The Colorado Buffaloes faced off against an improved Colorado State team this past Saturday night at the Parker Fieldhouse for a two-game set. The Buffs returned 4 players and Jack Ryan, who switched from skater to goaltender. He did not disappoint, making 27 saves from 30 shots in both contests.
In game one, the Buffs jumped out to a 2-0 lead 7:30 into the first. The Rams then scored with 11 seconds left in the first to cut the lead to 2-1. The Buffs then scored twice in the second and added an insurance goal in the third to earn the 5-1 win. The second game was almost a carbon copy of the first, except the Buffs jumped out to a 2-0 lead to end the first. Colorado State then scored a powerplay goal to cut the lead to 1, but then the Buffs erupted for 3 goals in the second and then 4 goals in the third. Colorado won the game 9-2, starting the season 2-0. Austin Granmoe and Adam Trunko lead the team in goals with 5, while Granmoe leads the team overall in points with 10. They are 3 games behind division leaders Louisiana Tech, with 3 less games played. The Buffs return home on 11/18 at the Foothills Fieldhouse to face North Texas, Sam Houston State, Louisiana Tech, and Colorado State in Lakewood, Colorado. The #7 Colorado Buffaloes will look to defend their SCHL Regional Championship this Saturday night as they debut against Colorado State at the Parker Fieldhouse. The Buffs have had changes to their roster, but they are looking forward to building on last season. The Buffs debut at #7 in the NCRHA Coaches Poll.

Tryouts are free to all CU students that have at least 9 credit hours (undergraduate) or 6 credit hours (graduate) on the Boulder campus.
