LAKEWOOD, CO- The B team started the day by beating Arapahoe Community College. Patrick Dowling scored the first goal, which was assisted by Joseph Oria. Next Logan
McCaul scored a goal, with an assist from Chase Arnold. In the second period, Austin Hunt scored his first goal during his first game. To end the second period Patrick Dowling scored again, this time assisted by Scott Barrow. After a few shots, Joseph Oria scores the last goal from Chase Arnold. The Buffaloes had a total of 43
shots, and five goals. Saturday’s shutout ensured that the Buffs would finish 4-0 with three shutouts against Arapahoe Community College.
University of Colorado at Colorado Springs put up a tough match against the A team. Colin Luben scored the only goal for the Buffs, in the first period. The Buffs
picked up their game in the third period, but unfortunately the Mountain Lions scored three goals within the last few minutes of play, beating the Buffs 7-1.
Next up for the A team was a matchup against the rival Colorado State Rams. Colin Luben scored
a power play goal, which was assisted by Zach Raub. In the second period both teams were strong defensively and no goals were scored. Late into the third period
Schuyler Van Sickle scored a goal, with assists from Brian Barrow and Kyle Nagato. Although the Buffs lost 4-2, they had a great effort for their last game of the
regular season before playoffs.
The day ended with the B team matching up against Division II Denver University. The
Buffs dominated the first period and scored two goals. The first goal was scored by Logan McCaul, and was assisted by Patrick Dowling and Joseph Oria. Only a minute later Scott Barrow scored an unassisted goal. In the second period Joseph Oria scored a goal, and Austin Hunt got his first assist. To end the period Patrick
Dowling scored a goal, which was assisted by Cody Gondek. Alex Payne scored an impressive five goals for the Pioneers, which proved to be the difference in the game. The Buffs ended up losing 7-4, but they put up a fight that will arguably give them momentum into regionals.
