LAKEWOOD, CO- The day started with the A team playing a game against the Denver Pioneers. Kyle Nagato scored the first goal, which was assisted by Schuyler Van Sickle. Max Harrison then scored his first goal of the game, which was assisted by Captain Zach
Clawson. The second period started with Schuyler Van Sickle assisting Colin Luben’s goal. Then, Schuyler Van Sickle assisted Max Harrison’s second goal of the
game. During the power play Kyle Nagato scored again, with an assist from Zach Raub. In the third period Colin Luben scored the only short handed goal. Unfortunately the Pioneers were able to catch up and beat the Buffs 7-6 in a game that went down to the wire.
The B team beat Arapahoe Community College to start their day. The game started with Patrick Dowling scoring an unassisted goal within a minute of play. To
finish the first period Logan McCaul scored another unassisted goal. Early into the second period captain Joseph Oria scored a goal, which was assisted by Patrick Dowling. Later in the second period Patrick Dowling scored his second unassisted goal. To end the game George Schmidbauer scored another unassisted
goal. With a total of five goals the Buffs beat ACC 5-3.
The A team played a close game against Colorado Springs. Late into the first
period Max Harrison put in a goal, which was assisted by Zach Raub. Then in the third period these two both assisted Schuyler Van Sickle’s goal. Unfortunately the
Buffaloes lost 2-4 against Colorado Springs. The day ended with the B team having another close game. Soon after Colorado State scored their first goal, the Buffs were able to put two in the net. The first goal was from Mark Voll, and the second was from Joseph Oria off of a fortunate mistake by the CSU goaltender. Oria
also scored the next goal for the Buffs, in the second period. To end the third period George Schmidbauer scored a goal. The Buffs ended up dropping a close game to the Rams 5-4.
