The Colorado Buffaloes roller hockey team are 2-0 on the season after winning both RMCRHA contests against the University of Denver. Game one was a tight affair, as CU stormed out to at 3-0 lead before Denver mounted their comeback, pulling ahead 5-4 in the beginning of the third period. The Buffs were resilient, scoring four times (once on the powerplay) in the third period to take the game 8-5. Cameron King made 15 saves in the win.
Game two proved to be a much easier contest for the Buffs, as Denver's main goaltender left the game due to a knee injury. They won the game 12-1, after storming out to a 8-1 lead at the end of the second period. Kevyn Huke made 29 saves in the win. The Buffs will travel to St. Louis in the first weekend of November, where they will face Maryville University, Illinois State, and St. Louis CC on November 3rd. The University of Colorado roller hockey team will open their season against the University of Denver this upcoming Saturday, October 13th. They will face the Pioneers at 6:30pm and 9:30pm at Foothills Fieldhouse in Lakewood, Colorado. The Buffs came off two scrimmages against tough Fire teams, and they are looking to show off their new additions and start their quest for a Division 3 nationals berth.
The series will be a part of a "festival" day, where the college games will be a part of a day-long roller hockey event featuring both college and Professional Inline Hockey Association contests. If you would like to see only the college games, admission is free, but the other roller hockey games will cost $7 for the entire day. See you there. Go Buffs! |
