This morning, the Buffaloes played Metro State. A win would have placed them in the playoff round of the tournament. However, the Buffaloes fell to the Division 1 Roadrunners 7-2. The Buffs will have two weekends off before beginning their regular season campaign October 16th in Denver. Colorado will use this off time to implement a new system under new head coach Jim Steinberg. This tournament saw the Buffs grow as a team while playing four tough games, two of them being against Division 1 teams. The rosters are set, and keep checking back for more updates on your Buffs!

Your Colorado Buffaloes took on Denver University, Colorado State's A team, and Kansas State in their first three games of the preseason tournament in Lakewood today. Their first game against Denver was rusty, as expected, and the Buffs dropped the game 8-4. The Buffs kept it close in the game, until the Pioneers scored twice in the last five minutes. Freshman Zach Clawson notched a hat-trick in the loss. The second game saw the Buffaloes outmatched by a much better CSU team, losing 8-1. Colorado knew they needed a win against Kansas State to give themselves a chance at the playoffs for the tournament, and the Buffaloes responded. After giving up the first two goals to the Wildcats, the Buffaloes took off and never looked back, scoring 5 consecutive goals to give them the win 5-2. The Buffs play their last guaranteed game against Metro State tomorrow morning at 10 a.m, with the Buffs looking to make the playoff round of the tournament.
