Frustrations for UNC were apparent as they took many unnecessary penalties. A scrum broke out at the post-game handshake, but nothing more came out of it. Kyle Smith made 18 saves in the win.
LAKEWOOD, CO- Your Colorado Buffaloes took down the UNC Bears last night at RMR. Zach Clawson started off the scoring 1:09 into the first period. CU added another goal and ended the first period on top 2-0. The Buffs then exploded to start out the 2nd period with four goals within two minutes to gain a 5-0 lead midway through the period. UNC came back to cut the lead to 5-3, but the Buffs then called a timeout, and they never looked back after that. Colin Luben scored before the end of the second to give the Buffs the 6-3 lead, then the Buffs scored five goals in the third period to take the game, 11-3. Colorado will look to take their streak into the semi-finals against UCCS in Lakewood this afternoon at 2 p.m!
