We are excited to have Max Muscle as a new sponsor! Tuesday night from 7-8 pm, join CU Roller Hockey at Max Muscle in Boulder for our fundraising night. Whether you are an athlete or you enjoy being healthy, this is the perfect time to get your hands on some discounted nutritional goods! We receive 10% of each sale, so this is the perfect time to support us before we head off to nationals in April. The address is 1631 28th Street, so come on over and support us!
Both roller hockey teams will be representing CU in nationals! A team received an at-large bid from the NCRHA, and they will be joining B team. This is A team's first appearance at nationals since 2005 in Fort Collins. The tournament will also be B team's first nationals appearance in the history of the program.
Games will be played in the Olympic Oval in Kearns, Utah, and the tournament will go from April 11th-15th, so come out to the Oval and support your Buffs on the road!
LAKEWOOD, CO- Yesterday afternoon in the championship game, A team lost a heart-breaker to UCCS 4-3 in OT. The A team had a 3-1 lead heading into the third period before UCCS tied the game at 3 to force the game into overtime. Ryan Pedersen scored the game winner for the Mountain Lions less than a minute into overtime to give UCCS the Regional Championship and the automatic bid to nationals.
The B team first earned their way into the finals with a dominating performance over UCCS B. The Buffs won 8-0. Against Metro State B, Colorado took a 3-1 lead after the first period. Going into the third, the Buffs lead 4-2. Despite a Roadrunner flurry of attack, the Buffs took the game 4-2 to be Regional Champions!! This is their first regional championship since 2005, and the team will be going to Nationals for the first time in history.
Despite the A team loss, they will still have a change to get to nationals, due to their strong record in the regular season. The Buffs were previously undefeated against Division 2 teams and posted a 4-4-2 record against Division 1 teams. We will let you know when the bids come out if A team will join B team in Utah next month. Go Buffs!
