The Colorado Buffaloes faced Denver on Thursday night for a chance to win Regionals and take the auto-bid for Nationals. In the first game, the Buffs were down 1-0 after the first period. They fought back to tie the game, but Denver was too much for the Buffs, as they took game one 6-2. Game two saw some history made, as Steven Hoernicke ('18) scored to give himself 82 career goals, moving into sole possession of first place all-time in career goals in CU's history. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Buffs dropped game two 9-5, and they are eliminated from Nationals contention.

The Colorado Buffaloes and University of Denver Pioneers played four wild contests as their rivalry heats up before RMCRHA Regional Playoffs. This past Thursday, CU dropped the first contest 13-12 in overtime. They came back from a 9-5 deficit to force overtime, and DU capitalized on a defensive miscommunication to end the game shortly into OT. In the second game, the Buffs lost 12-10. They had a chance to equalize late before DU scored on the empty net.
In the Sunday contests, Denver jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first period of the first game. CU could not recover, losing the contest 7-2. The Buffs then exploded in the second period of the second game, scoring 5 goals and jumping out to a 7-2 lead of their own. Buffs won the contest 9-4.
The Buffs and Pioneers will play a best-of-three series to determine the RMCRHA DII Regional Champion this upcoming Thursday at Foothills Fieldhouse in Lakewood. Game one will start at 9:15pm. Go Buffs!
The Colorado Buffaloes traveled to the campus of Kansas State University to plan an important set of 4 games. On Saturday, they faced Lindenwood Black and Kansas State (D4). During the Lindenwood game, LU jumped to a 2-0 lead early in the first period. The Buffs fought back to tie it at in the second, but penalties stopped all momentum, with the Buffs dropping the contest 9-5. Colorado then rebounded to beat K-State (D4) 9-2.
Sunday morning, the Buffs were outmatched by Kansas State's D2 team, as they dropped the contest 9-0. Colorado then stepped up and dominated late in the third period to beat Meramec CC 10-3.
Colorado will face-off against the University of Denver for a two game set this upcoming Thursday starting at 9pm. The Buffs will face Denver again this upcoming Sunday for a two game set starting at 9:15pm before heading into RMCRHA Regional Playoffs that following Thursday. Going into these final games, the Buffs are only two points behind Denver in the RMCRHA divisional standings. All games will be at Foothills Fieldhouse in Lakewood.
The Buffs head to Kansas State this upcoming weekend looking to get back on track against some tough GPCIHL competition. With a full roster and some new additions, Colorado will look to earn a couple of wins and head back into Nationals contention. The Buffs will start off at 10am on 2/17 against Lindenwood Black before finishing off the day against Kansas State's D4 team at 2pm. They will play their Sunday games at 8am against Kansas State and 10am against Meramec Community College. After their 10am game, the Buffs will return home.

The Colorado Buffaloes looked to improve on their good performances against DU by earning a couple of wins in St. Louis. After losing their two best defensemen and one of their best forwards for the second semester, plus some injuries, the Buffs skated into St. Louis with only six skaters and a goalie.
In the first game, the Buffs were dominated early by Maryville and never recovered, losing 9-1. The second game showed a better performance against a deep Missouri S&T squad, as the Buffs stormed out to a 4-0 lead in the first period. However, they gave up that lead and dropped the game 13-8. The second game showed domination early by K-State, as the Buffs lost 14-3. Colorado then stormed out to an early 2-0 lead against Central Missouri, but the Buffs then lost their defensive shape, dropping the game 9-5. The next games for CU will be 2/17 and 2/18 on the campus of Kansas State University.
The Colorado Buffaloes (0-2) will play their first games of the second semester this Saturday. Newcomer Kevyn Huke looks to win his first games as a starting goaltender, and Alex Dudley will look to make an instant impact as a new addition. "We are excited to welcome Kevyn and Alex onto the Buffaloes roster," says Head Coach Joe "Jose" Oria. "I am confident that they will help us solidify our gameplay and help us obtain our goal of making Nationals." All games will be at Midwest Sport Hockey (570 Weidman Road) in Ballwin, MO. The University of Colorado Roller Hockey team has announced their tryouts for the spring semester. Colorado will look to solidify their roster before their road trip to St. Louis from 1/26-1/28. Here is the information:

The Colorado Buffaloes dropped the first two games to the University of Denver this past Saturday. There were 4 lead changes in the first game, as the Buffs were down 6-5 heading into the final minute of the game. Colorado was unable to equalize, and Denver skated away with a 7-5 win. Denver then came out firing in the second game and never looked back, as they took the contest 8-3.
CU will likely have an event next month before having a break. They will travel to St. Louis or Chicago the weekend of January 27th and Manhattan, KS the weekend of February 17th.
Notes: The Buffs drop to 0-2 to start the season. Steven Hoernicke led all scorers with 6 goals, while newcomer Jordan Jean added 2 goals of his own...Goaltender Mark Ekberg played both games with a knee injury. He will have an MRI coming up soon...Kevyn Huke has joined the team as a goaltender, and he will likely feature in most of the contests this season.
