The Buffs could not build off of their great win against Metro State with their two games this weekend. They were without defenseman Zach Clawson, and his absence had an affect on the team. Against UNC-A, Nick Ramsey and Scheyler VanSickle scored twice to give Colorado the 2-0 lead at the end of the first. However, UNC scored in the first period and added 4 more in the third to give them the win 5-2. Kyle Smith had a solid game, making 34 saves in the loss. In the second game, Adam Steinberg scored both of the Buffs' first period goals, and the score was tied at two. Scheyler VanSickle scored 30 seconds into the second to give the Buffs the lead, and Gabe Margione equalized later on to tie the game at 3. Scheyler started off the period with a quick goal to give Colorado the lead. Then, Denver scored three more goals and finished Colorado off, 6-4. The Buffs will have two months off before returning to the rink in mid-January. Stay tuned for more updates!!
