The Buffs scrapped out a 9-6 victory vs Nevada in an entertaining contest before pouring on the offense against Cal and winning 13-0. UCLA proved to be yet another high-scoring contest, highlighted by a third period in which both teams combined for 10 goals. The Buffs took the game 12-8.
The final game against Cal Poly Pomona served as the most entertaining D3 contest of the weekend, and it was also a Nationals preview. The Buffs kept it close by being down 2-1 after the first period, but a three-goal second period was too much to overcome as the Buffs dropped the game 6-2.
The weekend served up a few milestones, as rookies Kyle Schwartz, Jason Rieger, Tyler DeLine, and Alex Masini all notched their first goals as Colorado Buffaloes. Schwartz and Cameron King led the Buffs with 9 goals each.
Colorado (3-1) returns home for a four-game slate on 11/2. The day will be highlighted by a 2pm game against Colorado State, which will mark the revival of the CU-CSU rivalry in the NCRHA. The Buffs and Rams have not faced each other since the 2014-2015 season. CU will also face Texas Tech, Tampa and Florida Gulf Coast. Cost of admission is $0, so come out and support us!
