CU came out slow losing 4-0 at the end of the first period against rival Colorado State University. The second period ended with CSU on top 6-1 with Brandon Redlinger scoring the lone CU goal. The third period ended scoreless with CSU defeating CU 6-1. CU rebounded in it's next game dominating the University of Northern Colorado's B team 10-3.
