Colorado then flexed their offensive muscles against ACC, beating them 10-2. Joseph Oria and Evan Meredith scored 16 seconds apart in the first to give the Buffs a quick 2-0 lead, and they were up 4-0 by the end of the first. ACC did end up scoring a goal in the first and second period, but it was only mere consolation as the Buffs easily won the game. This ended the 5 game losing streak for the Buffs, and Zach Clawson had 5 points while Evan Meredith scored 2 goals in the win. Kyle Smith did not have many shots to face, but he was able to stop 12 of 14 shots.
DENVER, CO- Your Colorado Buffaloes put up a fantastic effort against Metro State, but a goal in the second and third period were the difference as Metro State beat the Buffs in one of the best defensive games put together by a depleted Buffs team. Colorado was without the services of Schuyler VanSickle, but they were able to give a fantastic effort in what was arguably the best game of the weekend. Kyle Smith had his best night of the season, stopping 39 of 41 saves in the loss.

Your Colorado Buffaloes will be taking on Metro State and Arapahoe Community College this Saturday in Denver! Colorado came off of two close losses against two very good teams, and they will look to use that to beat both of those teams. The Buffs will look to sweep the season series against Metro State A, and they will look to beat ACC in the only matchup between the two teams. Puck drop is scheduled for noon against Metro State and 5 p.m against ACC. Come out to Bladium in Denver and support your Buffs!!!
The Buffs were a part of two thrilling games against Denver and Colorado State. Against Denver, the Buffs were tied with Denver 1-1 at the end of the first period. Colorado then gave up two short-handed goals in one powerplay, which gave the Buffs a hill to climb. However, the Buffs bounced back with goals by Nick Ramsey and Mitch Steinberg (Powerplay) and they tied the game at 3 by the end of the second. However, after Colin Luben was ejected from the game, the Pioneers used that to spark their team. They scored twice in the second period to give them the win 5-3. Nick Ramsey had two goals and Kyle Smith made 21 saves in the loss.
In the second installment of the Rocky Mountain Showdown, the Buffs and the Rams played a game that will go down as a classic. CSU jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period, but then the Buffs bounced back in the second with two goals in the first minute. Colorado State then added two more goals to make it 5-2. The Buffs would add one more goal to pull back to 5-3 at the end of the second. Zach Clawson would pull it back to 5-4 on the powerplay, but then Colorado State scored what would be the game-winning goal shortly after. Clawson then completed his hat-trick with less than four minutes to go to pull one back, but then the Buffs fell short 6-5. Kyle Smith had a solid performance, making 21 saves in the loss. The Buffs are recharged and are looking for wins in two very important games to the start of the season.
